I haven't moved!

I just figured it was time to make some of my thoughts more open to the public.

But I will still be here for my more personal moments.

Because now I can.

Canada...

Where we humored Annette's imagination and succumbed ourselves to her creative photo shoot.

It's extremely awkward trying to embody elegance when you're
wearing an entire line of Christmas lights wrapped around your head.

Sister, stepping out of her comfort zone and into nature:
"HURRY UP!!! I CAN FEEL THEM [the bugs] COMING!!!"

Irrelevant to above, but I really do love Vancouver's basket wagons :)

V for Visor

Thank you, Alvin, lovely.  You really shouldn't have.  All the kids (the little ones, at least) thought I looked really cool today--"Like a pink power ranger!"--and they wanted me on their team.  The sixth graders, however, just laughed at me.

But that's not the point.

The point is, HAHAHAHAHAHA, fuck you, sun!

And that I'll never have to wear make up again.

Knotted rings, from Urban Body :)

I am having way too much fun with this.

Maybe I will cut my hair.

But then again, it's because I have this wig that I don't have to...

So this is the one time I can have the best of both worlds :)

K's enjoying himself as well.  He's got that model face down.

Wigging out.

So maybe cutting my hair short wouldn't be a bad idea after all.

I always thought I'd end up looking like a little boy, but I guess not.  At worst I look like someone's aunt.

A cool, hip aunt that is.  Hahaha.

So the beauty/fashion/etc. blog that D and I planned decades ago has finally taken form and come to life.  I'm pretty proud of what we've accomplished and how we're going about it; I think it's very informative (but concise) and aesthetically pleasing.  The age group of our audience, so far that I know of, is between 18-28.  Woo!

So here's to my first EOTD [Eye of the Day, beauty junkie lingo]--procrastination at its finest.

I call it, 'A Slightly Bruised Look.'

No wallflowers here.

Masquerade Prep

I too, can be crafty.

1) Trim cheap, plastic mask to desired shape.
2) Strategically apply layers of lace ribbons.
3) Strategically align edges with ribbon.
4) Slit holes on both ends of mask, thread ribbons through; knot.
5) Voila, masquerade mask.

(There's like a bajillion layers of glue holding this thing together. I even sprayed it over with an acrylic coating and lined the edges with clear nail varnish to make sure it didn't fray or fall apart.)

To bang or not bang (as in fringe).

Apparently, I play pool now.

"Shit, shit, shit.  I'm cramping, I'm cra--GOD. DAMN.  MY JEANS ARE TOO TIGHT. I'm stuck.  How awkward. "

"I don't care if I make it, I just care about how I look doing it."

Somehow, I managed to win last game--in exactly that position above, which, apparently is illegal because at least one of my feet has to touch the floor.

Regarding Term Paper:  Times of Change:  Cultural Impacts in Ceremony

Comments: I usually advise students not to let the structure of a narrative determine the structure of their analysis, primarily because this structure leads inexperienced writers into doing summary rather than analysis. This essay, however, follows the structure of the story while developing an excellent interpretation of some of its key themes.

As a whole, this essay is simply outstanding. Not only do you develop sophisticated interpretive claims, but you also support them thoroughly and express them in lucid prose. This is one of the best undergraduate essays on Ceremony that I have read.

It was a pleasure to have you in class, Chantal. Your writing has been a treat to read, and your contributions to class discussions were always thoughtful and thought provoking. If you need a letter of recommendation, please let me know.

Outstanding work.  A+
